Eneva, the largest private natural gas operator in Brazil and integrated energy generator, announces the signing of the first natural gas supply contract in the “small scale” model with Copergás , a gas distributor in Pernambuco. The Company will supply gas from its concessions in the Parnaíba Basin and will be responsible for the liquefaction, transportation and regasification operations of liquefied natural gas (“LNG”), the latter taking place at Copergás regasification plants in Petrolina and Garanhuns, which will be operated by Eneva.

The Company will supply gas until the maximum contracted quantity is reached. The agreement is valid for three years, from the start of commercial supply, scheduled for the end of August 2024, and has the prospect of delivering up to 35 thousand m³/day of natural gas in Petrolina and up to 5 thousand m³/day of gas natural in Garanhuns.

"The agreement with Copergás is extremely important because it represents Eneva's first contract with a distributor in the small scale model. This is a crucial step to enable the creation of this market outside the network, which is one of the Company's strategic priorities ", says Marcelo Lopes, executive director of Marketing, Commercialization and New Business at Eneva.

“Eneva’s arrival is in line with Copergás’ strategy to ensure greater diversification in the supply of Natural Gas. One of the biggest challenges in the natural gas market is the low competitiveness between suppliers, which is why, through our public calls, we are constantly open to new supply solutions. With Eneva's partnership, we now have the opportunity to count on a new supplier, which not only strengthens the security of our internalization process, but also provides better commercial conditions. This way, we will be able to reduce operating costs and guarantee an environment with better tariff costs for our customers”, says Felipe Valença, CEO of Copergás.

The signing of the contract consolidates Eneva's plan to expand the sale of natural gas to third parties, and guarantees a stable revenue stream for the company by using part of the remaining capacity of the Parnaíba Complex liquefaction plant.
