Engineering underway for 200,000b/d Suriname offshore project
The front-end engineering design and tenders have begun for what would be Suriname’s first deepwater crude contributor, block 58.
TotalEnergies, which holds a 50% operating interest in the offshore acreage, provided the update during its 2023 results and 2024 outlook presentation. APA holds the other half.
During the talk with investors, company CEO Patrick Pouyanné reiterated plans targeting a final investment decision for the 200,000b/d project at year-end.
Oil discoveries Sapakara South and Krabdagu would underpin development, with first oil envisioned for 2028.
