Bnamericas
Argentina's waterworks promotion and financing agency Enohsa has approved funds for Santa Fe province's Centro aqueduct project, Gustavo Villa Uria, management and planning under-secretary from the province's water affairs ministry, confirmed to BNamericas. A call for bids to carry out the 40mn-peso (US$13.8mn) project is expected end-April, said Villa, adding that it has yet to be decided whether Enohsa or the province will manage the bidding process. Regarding the Norte and Sur aqueducts, the under-secretary said planners are looking for financing as each one is priced at US$100mn; the executive projects are due to be ready in a year, he said. Each aqueduct project will include inlets to pull river water, drinking water plants and pumping stations. Some 800,000 residents in 150 localities stand to benefit from the works. MASTER PLAN Another project the ministry is working on in conjunction with the national water resources department is the drafting of a water resource master plan, which will outline an action plan for the next 50 years, said Villa. Although a specific timetable has yet to be fixed, an update is expected in the coming days, he added.
