Since September 29, 2023, EP Petroecuador began the operation of the Jet A1 Fuel Storage and Dispatch Plant, located at the General Eloy Alfaro International Airport in Manta, Manabí, after obtaining permission and authorization from the Agency. Regulation and Control of Energy and Non-Renewable Natural Resources, which guarantees quality and quantity of aviation fuel.

This warehouse has two tanks, each with a capacity of 100,000 gallons, which were completely rehabilitated by the state oil company with the objective of providing greater storage capacity and stock management for this air terminal, as well as meeting the demand that generate as an alternate airport for the city of Guayaquil due to technical stops; in addition to contributing to Manta's aeronautical and commercial growth.

The current monthly average of Jet A1 shipments is 120,000 gallons, which are delivered to the aircraft of commercial and cargo airlines: Avianca, Copa, Aeroregional and private airlines that make national and international flights from this airport.

The comprehensive maintenance of the storage tanks and infrastructure of the Jet A1 Fuel Storage and Dispatch Plant, located at the General Eloy Alfaro International Airport in Manta, began on May 2, 2023, once the Comodato Contract or Use Loan granted by the Ecuadorian Air Force FAE in favor of EP Petroecuador. This work was carried out jointly with several institutions and with the professional contribution of public company officials.
