EPM today signed a credit agreement with the banks JPMorgan and Bank of Tokio - MUFG. This contract constitutes the development of a debt management operation for an amount equivalent to USD $ 250 million.
This operation allows EPM to improve the average life of its financial debt portfolio without increasing its current level of indebtedness. Additionally, EPM manages to neutralize the exchange risk by establishing the credit indexed to Colombian pesos (Synthetic credit in COP).
In the opinion of the General Manager of EPM, Jorge Andrés Carrillo Cardoso, “this operation has a very important significance, as it reiterates the confidence of the financial sector in the soundness and responsible management of Grupo EPM's resources, and additionally confirms the capacity for the timely attention to our financial commitments in the medium and long term ”.
The operation has the approval of the General Directorate of Public Credit and National Treasury of the Ministry of Finance through resolution No. 2816 of November 17, 2021.
