Eras extends concession dates

Eras, the water utility serving Colombia's Cordoba department, has extended the deadlines to find an operator, Maria Espitia, Eras' general manager told BNamericas. Bidding rules for the 20-year concession will now be on sale until February 16 - previously it had been January 30 - she said, with offers due by February 23. Three companies have bought bidding rules to date, Espitia said, and proposals will be adjudicated April 9. The renewable concession contract is aimed at improving waterworks service and coverage in Cordoba, which ranges from 50% to 90%. The role of Eras will change to that of contract supervision once the concessionaire takes over, Espitia said.
