Etesa begins test operations on the Sabanitas - Panama III transmission line
The following is a machine translation of an Etesa release
Last Saturday, December 28, the Electric Transmission Company SA (ETESA) began test operations on the Sabanitas – Panama III Transmission Line with high voltage energy transmission, reported the general manager, Ing. Roy Morales.
Mr. Morales stressed that after complying with all security protocols and coordination with the National Dispatch Center, the necessary tests began on one of the lines, so 'we are able to report that we are already providing energy to the network.
This is a great achievement, very important for us, because it allows us to strengthen the energy capacity required by the market, said the general manager of Etesa.
This project was made possible thanks to the firm commitment of the Environmental Management team, Property Management, Operations and Maintenance Management, Engineering Management, Legal Advisory Management and the communities through which the energy transmission project passes.
Likewise, Mr. Morales explained that with the delivery of the project in the coming days, the aim is to guarantee connectivity in accordance with the supply and demand of our economic agents and to strengthen the transmission capacity, which gives greater security and fluidity to the National Interconnected System (SIN).
The Sabanitas – Panama III Transmission Line is 46 kilometers long and has a 230kV capacity of 1000 megavolt-ampere (MVA), with two first substations isolated (encapsulated) in SF6 gas, GIS type (Gas Insulated Substation), which demonstrates the constant technological innovation of this company.
Mr. Morales thanked the joint inter-institutional support between ASEP, CMC Autopista, ENA, ATTT, National Police, Ministry of Public Security and local authorities who have ensured the safety of the workers and the contractor.
