Ex-Im Bank gives CFE US$141mn loan guarantee

The US Export-Import Bank has given Mexico's state power company CFE a US$141 mn long-term loan guarantee, with which the utility will buy three gas-fired turbines and generators from Siemens Westinghouse Power, the Ex-Im Bank said in a statement Monday. The CFE is purchasing the turbines and equipment to install at a 150MW plant in San Lorenzo, Puebla, and a 300MW plant at Tuxpan, Veracruz, with a 12-year loan from Standard Chartered Bank of New York. Other US exporters and suppliers, which are providing electrical, ignition and fuel-supply systems and parts, are Metal Systems, Koenig Engineering, SMCI, Machining Services, Forney, Daniel Measurement Control and GEA Power Cooling Systems.
