PRESS RELEASE from Acera
July 2024

July 2024, Santiago de Chile.- During July 29 and 30, an intense agenda will be held in the United Arab Emirates, visiting Abu Dhabi and Dubai, with a focus on the energy transition of both countries, as well as the deployment of clean technologies. , such as electrical storage and green hydrogen.

This is the second time this year that the Executive Director of the union, Ana Lía Rojas , representing ACERA, is invited to join the delegation of the President of the Republic of Chile, highlighting the importance of our Association for these State visits.

On the tour, Chile and the UAE will sign a Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement (CEPA), which aims to promote investments for the renewable energy and storage sector.

ACERA has been invited as the representative of the business sector in renewable energy, storage and clean technology for decarbonization. Our union plays a fundamental role as a promoter of these technologies.

For her part, the Executive Director of ACERA stated that “we are honored by this consideration and we are sure to contribute to a public-private cooperation agenda that helps consolidate the energy transition for Chile.”

UAE companies may find Chile an attractive market to invest in renewable energy and storage projects, as well as green hydrogen and seawater desalination.

Rojas indicated that "We firmly believe that the transfer of technology and knowledge between both countries can accelerate the development and implementation of long-duration storage, crucial for the stability of electrical networks with high penetration of renewable energies."

In addition to the meetings related to CEPA, the Chilean delegation will meet with officials from the Dubai Chamber of Commerce to promote Chile's export offer and explore commercial opportunities. During these meetings, the Dubai Chamber's programs and services to support international companies will be presented and the potential of Chilean companies in the Dubai market will be discussed.

Another important aspect of the visit will be the promotion of Chilean innovation, connecting multinationals and small and medium-sized companies (SMEs) with the Emirati innovation system, moving towards joint commercial and technological development.

At ACERA we consider that this tour provides a unique opportunity to exchange knowledge with business and technological counterparts interested in the Chilean electricity market, as well as attract investments and strengthen our position as a leading country in the region, in terms of transition towards a cleaner energy matrix. and sustainable.
