Experis expects over 10,000 IT hires in South America in next 5 years
By Experis
Buenos Aires, January 22, 2024 - The growth of the IT industry is putting organizations throughout the region in check, as 78% of them say they have difficulty finding the tech specialists they require. In Argentina, this figure rises to 81%.
This is confirmed by ManpowerGroup's 2023 Talent Shortage Survey, which says the most sought-after positions are in IT & Data, Engineering, Customer Service, and Operations and Logistics.
In turn, Experis, the leading brand in search, hiring and management of technological talent from Manpower Group, detected which countries in the region have the highest percentages of hiring collaborators: Brazil (41%), Colombia (39%) and Peru (26%).
An encouraging fact for the years to come is that the number of talent requirements has quintupled, both to work in local companies, as well as to export services directly to other destinations.
“Latin America, in general, is a region with important opportunities for development and growth at a technological level, which is why many companies look at our talents as a considerable attraction. For this reason, at Experis we seek to enhance the possibilities of connecting IT talents with companies that want to maximize their results, building the best teams,” says Jorge Gamero, General Manager at ManpowerGroup Chile and Director of Experis South America.
Favorable projections
According to the analysis carried out by Experis and hiring estimates in the region, it is expected that in the coming years more than 10,000 job opportunities will arise in South America and, in Argentina, this projection is equivalent to 1,000 positions to be filled between 2023 and 2027.
In addition, it is known that the IT turnover rate in the region is 20% to 23%.
Regarding the most in-demand profiles in Argentina, the following stand out:
- Cybersecurity
- Technical support
- Software Development, Maintenance and Architecture
- User experience
- Database management
- Customer relationship management system
- Project managers
- Telecommunications engineers
For the region overall, the greatest demand will be fpr development talents such as Backend, Frontend, Fullstack, and Technical Lead; and maintenance and support positions such as Service Desk and Field Support.
For the coming years, the positions that are seen with the greatest projection have to do with Data Analysis and Artificial Intelligence (Data Analyst, Data Scientist, UX, AI, UI).
“The technological field has been experiencing exponential growth globally and it is expected to continue doing so more rapidly. The problem is the lack of specialized professionals in the sector,” says Marcelo Roitman, Managing Director of Experis. “In this context, betting on the training and development of IT talent is seen as a strategic investment by organizations. Therefore, at Experis, we aim to cover this need, not only by constantly searching for talent but also by providing opportunities to develop it.”
