Exploring the future of solar energy: practical immersion in a photovoltaic plant complex

Bnamericas

By AE Solar

The TMW Energy Photovoltaic Plant Complex will be open to the public for a guided tour, showcasing the latest technologies in ground-mounted, floating, and AgriVoltaic solar plants. This is a unique opportunity to explore the intricacies of large-scale distributed generation projects, including the exclusive Floating Solar Plant with a solar tracker, the only one of its kind in Latin America.

With an installed capacity of 8 megawatts spread over approximately 80,000 square meters, visitors will have the chance to witness firsthand the advanced technologies employed, such as photovoltaic modules, inverters, transformers, and solar tracking systems. The tour also includes a demonstration of the Control, Monitoring, and Security Center, battery energy storage systems (BESS), and an electric bus charging station, all incorporating the latest market innovations for efficiency and sustainability.

Brazil's favorable conditions for developing floating solar plants, with over 420,000 registered lakes and various artificial reservoirs, present a significant potential for expanding photovoltaic energy production. Floating plants built on water bodies offer substantial benefits, including cost and risk reduction and increased energy efficiency.
