Fazenda Chicoria diamond prod. on target

Canadian junior Diagem (TSX-V: DGM) obtained diamonds weighing 228cts from the area known as block 1 at its Fazenda Chicoria property in Mato Grosso, center-west Brazil, in the second week of mining and processing, from August 23-31. The average grade of the diamondiferous gravels was 0.29cts/cu. m., which met forecasts for the week, the company said in a statement. Diagem's on-going exploration of the property, located in Juina province, has identified two new targets, it said. Resource block no.3 returned a grade of 0.60cts/cu. m. from the first 28 cu. m. bulk sample, Diagem said. Four diamonds are over one carat, weighing individually 7.07, 4.1, 1.46 and 1.25cts. In total, 12 diamonds with a weight of 16.7cts were recovered, the statement said. On resource block no. 4, the first 19 cu. m. bulk sample returned a grade of 0.78cts/cu. m., with diamond size averaging 0.37cts, the company said. The pilot plant at Fazenda Chicoria has reached throughput of 17-19 cu. m/hr and is approaching design capacity of 20-25 cu. m/hr, Diagem said.
