Five consortia were prequalified to compete for the expansion and improvement of route PY01

The names of the consortia that were prequalified from a total of 6 that submitted, and that will be able to participate in the next tender for the widening and improvement works of the PY01 route , in a stretch of 108 km comprised between Cuatro Mojones, are already known and Quiindy.
According to Resolution N.o 2218 signed by the Minister of Public Works and Communications, Ing. Claudia Centurion, the prequalified consortia were: Road Development to the South ( Sacyr Concessions SL and Eight A SA); Mercosur Routes ( Tecnoedil SA, Alya Construction SA, Construpar SA and Semisa Infrastructure SA); AG – Tocsa (AG Constructions and Services SA and Tocsa SA); Southern Routes ( Cointer Concessions SL, Azvi SAU and Heisecke Construction SA); and Southern Routes ( Acciona Concesiones SL, Rovella Carranza SA and Concret Mix SA), involving thus a total of 14 firms, including those from Brazil and Spain.

ON THE WORKS
On general lines, the required works consist of the maintenance, rehabilitation, opening of third lanes and the comprehensive upgrading of the drainage and signaling system throughout the aforementioned section, with a contract validity of 30 years.
With the implementation of this road project it is intended to increase capacity and improve transitability of users who travel daily in the area, as well as count on an adequate transport infrastructure that connects the production areas with national, regional and markets seaports of international connection.
The section of the route PY01 that will be intervened will benefit the departments of Central and Paraguarí, will reach 16 neighborhoods of the city of Villa Elisa, 15 neighborhoods of Fernando de la Mora, 12 neighborhoods of Ñemby, 32 neighborhoods of Ypané, 11 neighborhoods of Guarambaré, 12 neighborhoods of Villeta, 24 neighborhoods of Itá in the Central department.
In the department of Paraguarí it will benefit 27 neighborhoods of Yaguarón, 36 neighborhoods of Paraguarí, 15 neighborhoods of Carapeguá, 11 neighborhoods of San Roque González de Santa Cruz and 13 neighborhoods of Quiindy.
The works will be executed in 5 tranches. The first envisages the rehabilitation of 13.10 kilometers of Route 4 Mojones-Ytororó which include delevels in Bernardino Caballero and Ytororó. In addition, the construction of 9 footbridges, 1 upper step, 1 lower step, 1 bridge and 1,880 m2 of reinforced earth wall.
In section 2A, the doubling of 23 kilometers of the route that starts in Ytororó and culminates in the city of Itá is contemplated, with 3 links at different levels and 4 returns in Ypané, Guarambaré, Itá, northern Paraguarí. This sector also includes the construction of 1 walkway, 3 overpasses, 2 underpasses and 5 bridges.
In section 2B the doubling of 25 kilometers of route will be carried out with 1 link at different level, 4 interchanges, 4 returns and an 8 kilometer variant in Yaguarón.
In section 2C, 23 kilometers of route will be improved, from Paraguarí to Yaguarón, construction of 2 major viaducts, in addition to 5 other bridges.
Section 3 comprises the 25-kilometre lane improvement that includes the Roque González de Santa Cruz variant, with the reconditioning of approximately 1,500 meters and asphalting of 2 access roads.
The initiative contemplates, in turn, the construction of 2 bridges, 1 underpass, conditioning of the traverse through relaying and replacing existing causeway, partial refurbishment of sidewalks and paving of 2 roads up to the variant. All this with an approximate investment of USD 430 million via the Public Private Partnership (PPP).
