Curitiba, February 2024 - Furukawa Electric LatAm SA consolidates its leadership in the Brazilian structured cabling market. The company achieved a market share of 64%, according to data from the Anuário Prensario 2023 , published at the beginning of the year, an increase of 5 percentage points in relation to the market research carried out in 2022. The achievement occurs despite the challenges imposed by the post-pandemic period, in which investments in network infrastructure and data centers have been declining in relation to the previous period.
According to the publication, the revenue of the structured cabling sector in Latin America, in 2023, was USD 516.8 million, a decrease of 5.7% compared to the previous year. In the region as a whole, Furukawa maintains leadership in Latin America with a share of 29.5%, a result that represents its leading role in the other South American countries where it is present, such as Argentina, Uruguay, Bolivia and Paraguay.
The research presented in the Prensario Yearbook highlights Furukawa's ability to meet growing market demands, standing out not only for the quality of its products, but also for its innovation and commitment to excellence.
“The growth of Furukawa's market share in a scenario of accommodation in the structured cabling sector is an important recognition by integrators and distributors of the sector's business chain regarding the quality of the company's products and solutions", says Roberto Kihara, General Manager for Enterprise Solutions, Latin America.
Presence in other countries
In Argentina, Furukawa achieved leadership for the first time with 42.51% market share, being responsible for gaining relevant services such as the Evolution Free Trade Zone, in addition to serving state-owned companies, such as banks and airports (fiber optics) , as well as companies in the country’s industrial sector.
In Paraguay, where it obtained a 35.5% market share, Furukawa gained prominence by winning the competition to serve the country's public banks, universities and customs companies, with the Laserway solution.
In Bolivia, where it also holds the market share leadership with 34.3% of the country's market, Furukawa provides services to the public customs sector, universities and hospitals, with fiber optics and integrated Enterprise solutions. The company is ahead in Uruguay, with 23.08% of the market, serving the hospitals, football stadiums, engineering and state-owned sectors.
“This historic milestone of 64% market share in Brazil and leadership in the main Latin American countries, consolidates Furukawa as an essential catalyst for the advancement of communication infrastructures in the region, broadly serving integrators and distributors and reinforcing its commitment to providing robust and innovative solutions to meet the needs of the constantly evolving market”, concludes Roberto Kihara.
