Generadoras de Chile, an association that brings together the main electricity generation players in the country, unanimously elected Jaime Pino, general manager of Innergex, as the new chairman of the Board of Directors for 2024-25, and Pablo Villarino, manager of Corporate Affairs of Engie, as vice president for the same period.

Pino is an industrial civil engineer from Universidad Diego Portales and has a master's degree in Business Administration from Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile. He is currently the general manager of Innergex, a renewable energy generation company with Canadian capital. “I will put my greatest dedication and effort into supporting the management of the administration of Generadores de Chile to consolidate our fundamental role as articulators between the energy industry and the Government, in order to achieve as soon as possible the fruits that dialogue and strengthening the discussion with all actors in the energy sector, supporting the formation of good public policies, advances in regulation that provides certainties and regulations in accordance with the new times,” said the new chairman.

Generadoras de Chile also thanked María Teresa González for her efforts as chairwoman of the board during the last four years, a process in which the association has promoted an intense energy agenda to support the development of the sector.

“It has been a tremendous experience, with important advances in the sector, and with even greater challenges that we as a group and also as a country must address. Climate change is an urgency that we must face from all sectors together.
