Bnamericas
Germany will provide Peru's government US$14mn to finance drinking water and other rural development projects in five departments, Volkmar Blum, executive director of the Peru-Germany Fund, was quoted as saying in El Comercio. Blum met with municipal and departmental officials from La Libertad, Lambayeque, Cajamarca, Piura, Huancavelica and Ayacucho departments, as well as NGOs associated with rural infrastructure. The groups have until December 15 to submit specific projects for financial consideration. The Peru-Germany fund was established in 1997 as part of Peru's debt-consolidation measures.
