UCOM MHE 01.10.23. – With an investment of Bs 410 million, the National Electricity Company (ENDE) builds the 230 kilovolt (kV) transmission line to interconnect San Ignacio de Velasco, in Santa Cruz, to the National Interconnected System (SIN), the minister reported of Hydrocarbons and Energies, Franklin Molina Ortiz.

“Electrical infrastructure is fundamental for the development of the country, that is why the national government will continue the construction of transmission lines and substations to strengthen the SIN,” said the authority in relation to the importance of the transmission system.

This work is scheduled to be completed in 2025 and is part of a set of projects that are carried out within the framework of energy policy. The expansion of the lines increases the power of the national electrical system and allows it to meet the growing demand of the department.

Likewise, the authority indicated that the 500 kilovolt Carrasco – Brechas Line and associated substations are also in the construction stage. The investment in this project reaches more than Bs 913 million, which will guarantee the continuity and reliability of supply, and universal access to electricity.

This year, the execution of the Warnes II, El Dorado II and Santa Cruz wind projects also began to increase the SIN's power by 270 megawatts (MW) with an investment of Bs 3,000 million.

Within the framework of the energy transition towards cleaner energies, in the coming years more than 1.2 gigawatts (GW) with wind generation technology will be incorporated into the SIN, which will be implemented in 12 projects taking advantage of the wind potential of the department until the year 2030.
