Govt seeks consultants for potable water network studies

The government of Barbados has launched a tender to carry out a study into repairing and upgrading the national water supply network. The study will examine Barbados' pumping, chlorination and storage facilities so as to determine existing storage and network transmission capacities and project future water demand. The awardee will be required to prepare a technical and financial program including the project's estimated cost, as well as designs and tender documents. Offers for the project, led by Barbados' water authority BWA and financed by the Caribbean Development Bank (Caribank), are to be presented on November 1. A maximum of six applicants will be shortlisted to submit technical and financial proposals. Once awarded, the study is expected to be completed within nine months.
