Govt seeks consultants for road improvement program

Guyana's housing and water ministry has launched a consultancy tender to supervise the roadworks component of the national community road improvement program, the government said in a release. Work includes supervising construction and upgrading works on approximately 95km of tertiary roads in regions Essequibo Islands-West Demerara, Demerara-Mahaica, Mahaica-Berbice and East Berbice-Corentyne. The chosen consultant will be responsible for ensuring the work complies with environmental regulations and carrying out progress reports. Offers are to be submitted November 1, after which a maximum of six applicants will be shortlisted to present technical and financial proposals. The project is being financed by the Caribbean Development Bank (Caribank).
