Bnamericas
Costa Rica's public works ministry will carry out repair works to 80km of the Braulio Carrillo highway for some US$2mn, La Republica reported. Works, awarded to local firm M&S, will begin in two weeks and run from Guapiles-Siquirres. M&S is also carrying out repair works on the northern Pan-American highway stretch. Some 25,000 vehicles/day use the highway, which runs from capital San Jose to Limon port, a major banana exportation point on the Atlantic coast. Works will be financed by the national roadway fund. The government will also repair a stretch running from Tournon to the bridge over the Virilla river. A bidding process will be held and a winner will be selected in two months time, the paper added.
