The volume of energy supplied during 2023, which Colbún certified as renewable energy to its clients, increased by 40% compared to the previous year, reaching 6,225 GWh of energy per year. In this way, Colbún has certified 101 companies whose consumption was supplied with energy from 100% renewable generation means and whose verification was carried out by EY Chile .

In recent years, the demand for certified renewable energy in the market of large consumers - the so-called free customers - has had an explosive increase related to care for the environment. “Sustainability is a global priority today, and it is crucial that companies contribute to this cause. By using clean energy, they are demonstrating their commitment to reducing the environmental impact of their operations and taking concrete actions to minimize it,” said José Ignacio Escobar, CEO of Colbún.

For his part, Colbún's Commercial Manager, Juan Salinas, expressed that “at Colbún we want to be strategic partners of our clients and help them achieve their own sustainability goals and challenges. In that sense, we are proud to see how thanks to them the energy transition has been taking place in Chile and how the renewable energy that we provide them has allowed them to contribute to the reduction of CO2 emissions and consequent mitigation of climate change.”

Colbún will add a new 100% renewable generation offer. The Horizonte Wind Farm, one of the company's emblematic projects, which will have a capacity of 816 MW, located in the commune of Taltal, has already reached 80% progress this year. In addition, the company entered the Celda Solar photovoltaic and battery project, and the Cuatro Vientos wind project, into environmental evaluation.
