Guacolda awarded 135km transmission concession

Chile's economy and development department has awarded thermo generator Guacolda a concession to build a 133km, 220kV double circuit transmission line to ease bottlenecks, according to Chile's federal register equivalent. The line will run between Maitencillo and Cardones in Region III, easing the strain on the existing Maintencillo - Carrera Pinto line. Investment is estimated at 3.37bn pesos (today US$4.9mn). Guacolda owns a 304MW plant in Region III, on the northern border of Chile's central grid (SIC).
