Guatemala short-term power demand covered

Guatemala has sufficient installed power generation capacity to cover the demand of the national interconnected system from May through April 2025.

The outlook is part of wholesale market administrator AMM’s provisional version of its 2024-25 programming report.

Consumption in the period is forecast to increase 4.4% to 14,079GWh and maximum demand is projected to reach 2,104MW in April 2025 compared with 2,069MW expected this April.
