Guatemala will review regulations to implement ethanol mixture in fuel

The Minister of Energy and Mines Víctor Hugo Ventura reported that all current regulations will be reviewed to make the implementation of the mixture of ethanol in fuels viable and thus benefit the population.

The minister participated in the sustainable mobility conference titled The Opportunities of Ethanol in Guatemala and when approached by journalists he highlighted that the previous administration approved the regulations and that now it is time to implement them.

He added that the first thing they will do is a review of said regulations to verify their viability or if, on the contrary, a certain adaptation is required, focusing on technical issues and the expected deadlines.

Ventura recalled that there is a law from several years ago that authorizes the marketing of the mixture of ethanol with fuel in the country and that among the issues that will be reviewed in the regulations is determining whether the agents involved are ready for the change.

It will also be examined that the implementation of said regulations does not affect fuel prices.
