Halliburton widening Guyana-Suriname basin footprint

Suriname's burgeoning hydrocarbons industry, as part of the wider buildout of the Atlantic basin it shares with Guyana, is driving demand for related services.

Halliburton, with a consolidated presence in Guyana in support of the Stabroek flagship upstream development, now looks to widen its initial entry in neighboring Suriname.

The oilfield service provider issued a request for information to install a liquid mud and bulk plant in Suriname.

Halliburton seeks a firm to provide full engineering design for design civil work, mechanical piping work and electrical work for the whole plant.

The deadline to submit expressions of interest is April 24, according to the procurement notice, available in the Documents box in the top-right corner of the screen that also includes a questionnaire that contractors must complete.

BNamericas previously reported that Halliburton was looking to expand its operations in Suriname.

The news followed a meeting between Suriname's President Chandrikapersad Santokhi and Halliburton CEO Jeff Miller, with the participation of the head of Suriname's national oil company Staatsolie.
