Honduras’ state power company Enee launched an international public tender for the 150km, 230kV Zamorano II-Danlí II-Terrero Blanco transmission project.

BNamericas previously reported that power regulator CREE approved bidding rules for the infrastructure which will reinforce dispatch in the departments of El Paraíso and Olancho.

The project will cost an estimated 2.2 billion lempiras (US$90 million). The procurement notice is available in the Documents box in the top right corner.

Enee also has bidding underway for the 230kV Negrito-Yoro II-Arenales-Coyoles Central II-Reguleto line.

In related news, Enee launched operations of the revamped Miraflores substation to shore up capital Tegucigalpa’s grid. The overhaul doubled the substation’s capacity to 100MVA.

Meanwhile, bidding rules for the international public tender call to supply 1,500MW are expected to be ready in October, local press quoted deputy energy minister Tomás Rodríguez as saying.
