Honduras calls on experts to tackle drought
Honduran President Juan Orlando Hernández (pictured) is assembling a group of irrigation experts to combat one of the worst droughts in the county in the last half century.
Some 13 of Honduras' 18 departments are currently experiencing the effects of the drought, a government release stated.
A regional expert with the Global Water Partnership has warned of the need for greater investments in water reservoir and transfer infrastructure, while the Honduran government recently approved an irrigation-purposed loan from the Bank of Austria.
