
Honduras seeks firm to advance 200MW hydro project

Honduras’ state power company Enee launched bidding for the 210MW Jicatuyo hydro project in Santa Barbara department.
The one-year contract entails carrying out the technical, economic, financial, legal, environmental and social feasibility study, and basic design for the plant, which would be built in the Ulua river basin.
Offers are due next month, according to procurement information, available here and in the Documents box in the top right corner.

Meanwhile, Enee launched expanded operations of the San Buena Ventura substation in San Francisco de Yojoa, Cortés department.
For its part, power regulator CREE approved amended reference terms, available in the Documents box, submitted by Enee for the planned procurement of 1,500MW.
And as part of additional actions to boost dispatch, CREE authorized Enee to procure up to 150MW from the Central America power market through firm capacity and energy contracts for one year starting January 1.
