Honduras tender roundup: Hospitals, highway
Honduras’ transport and infrastructure ministry (SIT) launched a request for expressions of interest from companies to build the third stage of the two hospitals that are under construction in Ocotepeque and Salamá municipalities.
According to a document published by minister Octavio Pineda Paredes on social media, local and international companies that have built at least two similar healthcare facilities – with the construction area topping 20,000m2 – are invited to participate.
Interested parties should send detailed information regarding their technical, legal and financial capacity via this email unidadhospitales@sit.gob.hn or to the SIT's technical unit for hospitals during the next three working days.
On Wednesday, SIT also announced the launch of bidding process CPI-SIT-BCIE-005-2024 to award the contract to design the San Pedro Sula highway (Chamelecón-Naco) “to determine the viability and technical, financial, environmental, and social feasibility of the project.”
The winner will produce a detailed design of the route, the structure of the paving and the design of bridges and viaducts, among others.
The deadline to file proposals with SIT is September 30, and they will be opened that same day. Interested parties will find all the documentation needed on procurement website honducompras.gob.hn.
"This is a desire [that has existed] for decades and it starts today thanks to the good management skills of our President Xiomara Castro, who prioritized such an important project. SIT will carry out the project with funds from the Central American Bank for Economic Integration and CAF," said Pineda on social media.
