The board of directors of the Ibero-American Association for Energy Commercialization (AICE) elected Sebastián Novoa, top leader of the Chilean Association of Energy Commercializers (ACEN), as president for two years, in a unanimous vote that included representatives from Brazil, Chile, Colombia, Spain, Mexico and Portugal. Meanwhile, as vice president, Emilio Rousaud, president of the Association of Independent Energy Marketers (ACIE) of Spain, was elected.

In the telematic election, Novoa pointed out that "it is an honor to accept this nomination and represent the interests of all these energy trading associations that are committed to effective competition in the energy markets, the delivery of flexible services and according to the needs of each end user according to their consumption profiles and the existence of a common energy market that provides liquidity and transparency to transactions between the different market agents. The desire of these associations is for end users to be at the center of conversations with the regulatory bodies of each of these countries and to be able to access optimal energy prices in the context of the energy transition towards a cleaner matrix.” .

For his part, Rousaud added that “we are very proud to be part of AICE. Thanks to its creation we will have the opportunity to exchange experiences and information among the members, in addition to developing joint initiatives that allow us to strengthen the energy market”. In addition, at the time, Mexico was chosen to lead the regulation team and Brazil the marketing and communications team.

The AICE board of directors is made up of Rodrigo Ferreira from the Brazilian Association of Energy Marketers (ABRACEEL), Francisco Con Garza from the Association of Energy Marketers, AC (ACE) of Mexico, Marta Aguilar from the Colombian Association of Energy Marketers ( ACCE), Sebastián Novoa from the Chilean Association of Energy Marketers (ACEN), João Nuno Serra from the Association of Energy Marketers in the Liberalized Market (ACEMEL) of Portugal and Emilio Rousaud from the Association of Independent Energy Marketers (ACIE) from Spain.

It should be noted that AICE was created by these six energy commercialization associations on June 19, 2023 in order to share experiences and promote actions to promote commercialization in Latin America.
