ICE awards first 86 megawatts of solar generation to five projects

This Monday, the Costa Rican Electricity Institute (ICE) awarded the first five solar generation projects, which are part of the 370 megawatt block announced at a press conference last March.
With an installed capacity of 86 megawatts, these plants will strengthen the country's generation matrix and will contribute to meeting the growing electricity demand, both in homes, businesses and industries. A growth in electricity consumption of 10.6% is projected for the next three years.
The awarded companies are Cover Energy SA, Solar Generation Sur SA, Energova SA, Inversiones Sunfly SA and Inversiones CMSolen SA The projects will be located in the province of Guanacaste.
Within five business days after the finality of the act, ICE will invite companies to provide the guarantee of compliance and appear to sign the Letter of Commitment, in accordance with the model included in the Terms of Reference for the Call. .
Recently, the Board of Directors of ICE endorsed the construction of the San Antonio Solar Plant (La Uruca), property of the Institute, which will begin in the short term.
