ICT tender watch: Honduras, Dominican Republic, Barbados

The Inter-American Development Bank (IDB) invites eligible consultancies, on behalf of the Honduran government, to bid in a tender for the development of a broad broadband development plan for the country.

The chief goal is to support the government in developing a sustainable environment for the efficient and effective use of broadband services, a tender notice said.

Among the specific objectives are assessing the needs and developing pre-feasibility studies for the deployment of broadband networks and cloud-computing infrastructure; strengthening the regulatory framework and developing innovative public policies for the digital ecosystem; and designing a strategy for the strengthening of state-run telco Hondutel.

The government of the Dominican Republic wants to buy 3,000 mobile devices and data plans for the capture and transfer of data for its 3rd socioeconomic housing study.

The Barbados-based Caribbean Development Bank (CDB) is procuring consultancies for the redesign, development and launch of its corporate website.

CDB is looking to improve its web presence through an updated, compelling visual design, and intuitive information architecture and user experience. Works are expected to last eight months.
