ICT tender watch: Nicaragua, Brazil
The Nicaraguan government has invited eligible companies to bid on a tender for the purchase of "mobile capture devices" as part of a program for the modernization of the country's financial administrative system.
The devices sought are 7-inch tablets and the tender is being carried out on behalf of the country's finance and public credit ministry.
The tender details and bidding documents can be downloaded from the Nicaraguan procurement portal, but applications must first be made to express a formal interest in writing to tania.Solis@mhcp.gob.ni or to damaris.vasquez@mhcp.gob.ni.
Bids must be sent no later than June 13 at 10am local time in person to:
Dirección General de Tecnología del Ministerio de Hacienda y Crédito Público, Coordinación de Adquisiciones del PMSAF, 3a Calle S.E, Managua, Nicaragua.

Brazil's Bahia state postponed the deadline for the submission of bids in a tender for the purchase of Oracle software licenses. Authorities said the rescheduling was necessary because the process had not been widely publicized in local media as legally required.
With the postponement, proposals can now be registered online on the website www.licitacoes-e.com.br by May 31, at 9:30am local time, rather than by May 29. The tender will be held electronically on May 31, at 10am. Details can obtained by writing to licitação.prosus@saude.ba.gov.br.
The licenses will be used for a local program to reinforce Brazil's public health system in the metropolitan region of Salvador, the Bahia state capital. The process is partially financed by a US$285mn loan from the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB). The contract is initially valid for 36 months and includes technical updates and support.
