IN BRIEF: Claro Puerto Rico advances network modernization plan

América Móvil's Claro Puerto Rico subsidiary announced that 61 boroughs in 30 municipalities can now reach mobile speeds of up to 110Mbps due to advancements in the telco's modernization plan.
Claro Puerto Rico's modernization and mobile network evolution plan seeks to increase mobile broadband speeds fourfold and coverage to 230%, reported local daily El Vocero. The project is scheduled to be completed next year, for which the telco has destined US$370mn.
The network modernization plan includes the expansion of Claro's FTTH network and the implementation of carrier aggregation solutions to provide greater speeds, coverage, and capacities.
