Brief: Costa Rica opens irrigation project in Cartago province
Costa Rican President Luis Guillermo Solís opened a 201mn-colón (US$348,000) irrigation project in Pisirí, a town located in the country's Cartago province, benefitting 45 families working in agriculture.
The initiative entailed building a pipeline network that collects water from the local Las Vueltas river to supply 42ha of agricultural land.
The project was carried out by national groundwater, irrigation and drainage service Senara.
