INP bets on tech to improve service

Bnamericas
Chile's social security agency INP has entered into a strategic alliance with informatics consultancy Synapsis to launch a technological platform to improve client service. Part of the government's modernization of the state program, the technological innovations will mean gradually almost all of the state pensions and insurance agency's services will be available to affiliates online. At an event to launch the new service, INP chief executive Ernesto Evans stated the fortunes of the agency and its information technology service provider are riding on the success of this important development. The Hercules project's leader Pablo Loa of Synapsis said that the modernization of the service would result in a 50% reduction in time spent attending two million affiliates. The initiative is seen as a step on the road to establishing a one-stop shop for bureaucratic procedures between state entities and the public.
