Transmantaro Consortium (ISA CTM) completed the execution of the work on the project "Change of voltage level of the Chilca – La Planicie – Carabayllo transmission line and associated substations", a high-impact work that will benefit more than 10 million inhabitants of the Peruvian capital and the north of the country. The energization of this project was celebrated yesterday, July 24, in the presence of officials from the Ministry of Energy and Mines, and the Economic Operation Committee of the National Interconnected System (COES).

This project is the first developed in Peru that doubles the transmission capacity of existing high and extra high voltage lines, reconfiguring conductors along 90 kilometers of extension, over 98% of the current easement corridor. With this, ISA CTM becomes a key actor in promoting the energy transition in Peru.

" This is the first project of this nature to be developed in the country. It has represented a challenge from the engineering side and for all our collaborators and allies in the field, to carry out this conversion that today allows us to have a more robust National Interconnected Electrical System," said Cristian Remolina, general manager of ISA CTM.

For his part, the general director of the General Directorate of Electricity of the Ministry of Energy and Mines, Elvis Tello Ortiz, highlighted the coordination of private companies and the State in the advancement of electrical projects, fundamental for the development and growth of the country.

The project required an investment of S/190 million, and its implementation also included the expansion of the Chilca and Carabayllo 500/220kV substations, the installation of a bank of 500/220 kV autotransformers of 600 MVA and connection cells.

"It makes me very excited and happy to deliver this project to the country. Our commitment remains valid to continue working as we have been doing, ensuring excellent management, becoming the best ally to promote the energy transition and continue taking care of that which is least seen. ", concluded Remolina.

During the development of the work, it was necessary to permanently disconnect important 220 kilovolt links. For this, work with tension (TcT) was even carried out with the aim of maintaining the reliability of the facilities without affecting the electrical supply during the work.

It is important to highlight that throughout the implementation process of the work, practices of the "Connected with Life" program have been carried out, aimed at taking care of the health and safety of all those involved.
