ISA increases Jan-Aug. profits 46%

Colombia's state power transmission company ISA increased January-August 2004 net profits by 46% to 66.5bn pesos (US$26mn) from the same period last year, the company announced Tuesday. Operating revenues increased 15% to 485bn pesos and operating costs rose 15% to 226bn pesos, resulting in a 14% improvement in operating profits to 259bn pesos. Non-operating income fell 32% to 28.5bn pesos and non-operating expenses fell 19% to 132bn pesos. Non-operating losses fell 14% to 103bn pesos from the first eight months of 2003.
