Jamaica issues refinery procurement calls
Jamaica’s state refiner Petrojam has launched bidding to carry out work at its 35,000b/d refinery complex.
One call entails replacing the entire floor of a storage tank with capacity to hold 43,300b of heavy fuel oil.
A mandatory site visit is scheduled for November 10 with offers due by December 11, according to the procurement notice.
A second process is for the supply and delivery of a secondary substation distribution transformer at the plant. Bids are due by November 19, according to the invitation.
Petrojam also has a tender underway for a plant-wide process hazard analysis.
The finance ministry’s fiscal year 2020-21 policy paper released early this year highlights Petrojam’s maintenance plans at the refinery to improve efficiency.
The work includes the replacement, upgrade and overhaul of storage tanks, pumps, towers, boilers and other infrastructure for a projected cost of 2.24bn Jamaican dollars (US$15mn) which represents 88% of capital spend, said the ministry.
