Jan-July power demand increases 2%

Colombia's accumulated power demand in the first seven months of the year increased 2.33% from the same period of 2003 to 27,079GWh, state transmission company ISA announced. Demand for the 12 months to end-July 2004 increased 2.30% to 46,511GWh, and the demand in July alone increased 0.89% to 3,937GWh in 2004. The average daily demand was 128GWh in July 2004, a month in which regulated demand fell 1.1% and non-regulated demand increased 6.5% from July 2003.
