Jan-Nov generation falls 0.16%

Power generation in Venezuela during the first 11 months of the year fell 0.26% from the same period in 2002 to 81,861GWh, according to information from national grid operator Opsis. Generation fell 0.77% to 88,884GWh in the 12 months to November 2003, compared to the 12 months to November 2002. Thermo generation accounted for 2,542GWh and hydro generation 5,155Wh of the 7,696GWh produced in November. The main generators in November were state-owned companies Edelca with 66% (4,981GWh) and EDC with 14.2% (1,096GWh) of the total. Consumption was 81,487GWh in the first 11 months of 2003 and 88,514GWh in the 12 months to November 2003.
