Junior corporate roundup: Rusoro, Almadex, Minaurum, Prize

Rusoro Mining filed lawsuits in Houston and Calgary in connection with an arbitration award against Venezuela, following the expropriation of Rusoro's mining properties in the country.

The lawsuits relate to judgments totaling US$1.34bn in the US and Canada which recognize and allow enforcement of the arbitration award.

Almadex shareholders voted in favor of a spin-out of the company's early stage exploration projects, royalty interests and certain other assets. The transaction is subject to final court approval and acceptance by the TSX Venture Exchange.

Almadex is focused on exploration at its El Cobre gold-copper project in Mexico.

Minaurum Gold raised Cdn$4.79mn (US$3.73mn) in the first tranche of a Cdn$6mn non-brokered private placement.

Proceeds will be used for exploration at the Alamos silver project in Mexico and for working capital purposes.

Prize Mining plans to raise Cdn$2mn through a non-brokered private placement, to fund a geological, drilling and engineering assessment program on its Manto Negro copper project in Mexico.
