Solitario Zinc said that Nexa Resources has begun the 2019 phase of the most aggressive surface drilling program in the history of the Florida Canyon zinc project in Peru.

Three core rigs with helicopter support will be utilized for the 2019 program, the firm said in a release. The 2019 program consists of drilling about 35 core holes totaling approximately 15,000m.

Proposed drilling is designed to test highly prospective resource expansion opportunities and is focused on near-vertical zinc-lead replacement bodies and significant gaps and offsets within nearly horizontal manto-style mineralization.

SilverCrest Metals announced the results of an independent PEA completed by Tetra Tech Canada, for the Las Chispas project in Sonora, Mexico.

The study highlights a 1,250t/d production rate with an initial mine life of 8.5 years, the company stated.

The firm estimates average diluted grades for silver at 411.0g/t and 4.05g/t for gold.

Average annual production is estimated at 5.3Moz silver and 55,700oz gold, while life-of-mine all-in sustaining cash costs are forecast at US$7.52/oz silver equivalent with initial capex of US$101mn.

This assumes a silver price of US$16.68/oz, a gold price of US$1.269/oz and a Mexican peso/US$ exchange rate of 20:1.

Twenty-five grab samples from four outcrops have returned and confirmed the presence of gold mineralization with gold values by re-assay up to 1.04 ppm gold, the firm said.
