Junior exploration, development roundup: Coro, Calibre, Trevali, Oceanus

Vancouver-based Coro Mining updated developments at the Berta copper project in Atacama region, Chile.

Copper leaching is scheduled to begin at the end of this month at the expanded 4,800t/y mine, where the company is installing heap leaching and crushing facilities and will start loading ore onto the leach pads in mid-March, according to a statement.

Vancouver's Calibre Mining announced exploration details at its Borosí gold-silver-copper concessions in Nicaragua.

A reverse circulation and diamond drill program is scheduled to get underway in the second quarter at the Primavera prospect, the company said. Calibre has also completed the first three of a 2,500m, seven hole diamond drill program at the Monte Carmelo project, while permitting has been completed for a 3,000m diamond drill program at the Santa María vein, it said.

Further diamond drilling is also planned at the Siuna property, a JV with Centerra Gold, while work is underway on a 6,000m diamond drill program at Eastern Borosí, a JV with IAMGOLD.

Vancouver-based Trevali Mining published a mineral resource update at its Santander zinc-lead-silver mine in Peru.

Measured and indicated resources now total 3.8Mt of 4.85% zinc, 0.85% lead and 1.2oz/t silver containing 406.5Mlb zinc, 69.3Mlb lead and 4.7Moz silver, the company said in a statement.

Trevali added it plans a US$3mn, 15,000m drill program at the Magistral and Santander Pipe targets this year.

Nova Scotia-based Oceanus Resources released exploration results from its El Tigre gold-silver project in Sonora, Mexico.

Highlights of infill diamond drilling included 102m of 0.5g/t gold and 13.4g/t silver, according to a statement. The company, which has completed 6,467m in 35 holes at the property since December, plans to drill another 15 this month.
