São Paulo, March 11, 2025 - LATAM Airlines Group and its subsidiaries, the leading airline group in Latin America, have signed a contract with IBM to provide services that automate key security processes with Artificial Intelligence (AI), with the aim of improving its cybersecurity operations globally.

Security powered by automation and AI is showing promising results, according to the "Global Security Operations Center" study developed by Morning Consult for IBM. The research indicates that companies spend 55% less time classifying incidents and respond 8 times faster. Specifically in Latin America , security with AI and automation reduced the attack life cycle by 83 days during 2024.

“The signing of this agreement with IBM is an example of our commitment to implementing measures to protect our customers’ data and the integrity of our systems,” said André Pires Ferreira, Chief Information Security Officer at LATAM Airlines. “By engaging IBM’s advanced security services and expertise, we are better prepared for emerging threats while maintaining continuous innovation.”

The agreement between LATAM and IBM Security Services includes areas such as cyber defense and cyber intelligence, among others. It also involves the use of the IBM X-Force Protection platform, which, with AI and business automation capabilities, allows greater visibility and coverage of the entire LATAM ecosystem.

“In the face of an ever-evolving threat landscape, AI- and automation-driven security offers significant advantages that organizations can leverage across the entire security lifecycle,” said Leonardo González Barceló, Lead Client Partner, IBM Consulting. “We are very proud to be selected by LATAM and to provide services that strengthen their cybersecurity capabilities.”
