The lower house approved, this Thursday (12), the Legislative Decree Project (PDL) 159/22 , which provides for the end of roaming charges between Mercosur countries (Argentina, Brazil, Paraguay, Uruguay and Bolivia). The text will be sent to the Senate for analysis.

Presented by the Brazilian Representation in the Mercosur Parliament, the proposal includes the agreement to eliminate the collection of international roaming charges for Mercosur end-users, signed in 2019.

The aim is to allow mobile phone users travelling in the bloc's nations to be charged according to the plan contracted in their country of origin, without additional charges.

The rapporteur of the text for the Constitution and Justice and Citizenship Committee (CCJ), lawmaker Orlando Silva (PCdoB-SP), recommended the approval of the agreement.
