London-based investment group eyeing Latin America

Investment group ImpactA Global has placed Latin America and the Caribbean (LAC) in its sights to support the region’s sustainable development.

The London-based firm is looking to secure financing for a sustainable infrastructure fund which also targets Africa and Asia, information from IDB’s private lending arm IDB Invest shows.

The fund will target renewable energy, climate transition (including clean mobility), health, and water and sanitation services, and expects to invest in eight to 10 projects in LAC.

Preliminary opportunities have been identified in Brazil, Chile, Colombia, the Dominican Republic, Ecuador, Honduras, Panama, Peru and Uruguay.

The proposed transaction entails syndicated and financing amounts for US$5mn and US$20mn, respectively. IDB Invest’s board is due to consider the request in September.
