Santiago, 13 December 2022--Macquarie Capital, the corporate advisory, capital markets and principal investing arm of Macquarie Group, today announced that it has named Kevin Nobels as a Managing Director in its Infrastructure and Energy Capital group. In his new role, Mr. Nobels will focus on driving investments in infrastructure and energy transition for Macquarie Capital across Latin America.

Mr. Nobels has extensive experience in large-scale capital projects and operational transformation in the renewable energy, infrastructure, oil, gas and basic materials sectors in the region. Prior to joining Macquarie Capital, he spent 15 years at McKinsey & Company. As a Partner based in São Paulo and Energy Practice Leader in Latin America, he focused on energy transition strategies and implementation, serving corporate clients across various sectors such as hydrogen, wind power, biofuels, energy efficiency and electrification. Mr. Nobels also established the Capital Excellence practice for the region. Before joining McKinsey & Company, he worked in the auto industry in Europe.

“Kevin brings further deep understanding of the Latin American market to Macquarie Capital, with his extensive expertise building and developing sustainable infrastructure to meet the demands of an increasingly urbanized society,” said Mark Bradshaw, Global Head of Macquarie Capital’s Infrastructure and Energy Capital Group. “Kevin’s knowledge and depth of experience put him in an excellent position to partner with a range of enterprises across the Latin American market to support energy transition, social, economic and digital infrastructure to advance prosperity for the wider community.”

Macquarie Capital has been active in Latin America for the last two decades, providing advanced technical knowledge and flexible capital solutions to help clients and partners create sustainable, connected and resilient infrastructure assets. Macquarie Capital’s regional presence includes offices in Santiago and Mexico City.

“Infrastructure as an asset class has expanded beyond roads and airports to encompass renewable energy, social infrastructure and enabling technologies,” said Mr. Nobels. “Macquarie Capital not only has flexible solutions to facilitate financing for corporates, government entities and private-public partnerships (P3), it also has sophisticated execution capabilities. I’m greatly looking forward to working with clients and partners to accelerate much-needed projects to power this region’s future.”
