Managua starts US$290mn Juan Pablo II highway works
Nicaragua started works for the 10km, US$290mn modernization and expansion of Managua’s Juan Pablo II highway.
Works were divided into four stretches.
“It will take three years and we will start with stretches one and four, trying not to affect the families of Managua too much. We are talking about more than US$200mn,” mayor Reina Rueda told broadcaster Viva Nicaragua.
The 2.6km stretch one will connect 7 sur road to Julio Martínez bus stops and works will include new sidewalks and lighting.
Last week, Managua presented the design and some details.
