The president inaugurated the works executed through the Ministry of Public Works and Communications, which includes Section 1- Alberdi – Pilar detour, with an investment of 434,558,608,007 guaraníes. The project includes the paving of 52.88 km of the main route of the PY19 route, from the Alberdi diversion to the Tebicuary river, plus 3.38 km of urban crossing of Villa Franca, which with the 22 km completed total 25.38 km of new paving in the department of Ñeembucú.

“Today in the last week of the government we are meeting two important goals, one to get the largest number of districts out of isolation, 38 with Villafranca. Our government vision was to impact the districts that were isolated. We have more than 38 districts that within our government's plan we were able to get out of isolation," said the head of state, Mario Abdo Benítez, after the inaugural act of asphalt paving 22 km of a section of the PY19 route, from the detour to Alberdi to Villa Franca, as well as all-weather access to said city.

He argued that “for Villafranca it is also something historic, as the mayor and the governor said well. Villafranca has enormous tourism potential and this also means faster access to the entire health system. So this is going to transform Villafranca forever,” the president pointed out.

MORE THAN 4,000 KILOMETERS OF PAVED ROADS

The president also highlighted that more than 4,000 kilometers of roads were paved during this government, contributing to the development of the country's economy.

“And second, to reach 4,200 and a little more kilometers of paved roads. This also shows that when there is a will, this is a sample of the speed of the management of the public bureaucracy. In five we made more paved roads than in the last 30 years, which can change the speed of development of our economy and our democracy”, he emphasized.

He also stressed the great effort made by the private sector and those responsible for the Ministry of Public Works, to meet the goals of the Government.

“We are very happy, it is a day where we are closing a cycle and I want to pay tribute and gratitude first to the two Ministers of Public Works Rodolfo Segovia and Arnoldo Wiens, who are with us and to the entire private sector. Because it is a great effort that the entire private sector has made in this time, to be able to meet these government goals”, emphasized President Abdo Benítez.

ACCESS TO VILLA FRANCA

For his part, the Minister of Public Works and Communications, Rodolfo Segovia, explained that a section that is the access to Villa Franca will be inaugurated on the date.

“Section 1 includes from the Alberdi detour to the Tebicuary Bridge, 51 kilometers long and today we are preparing a section of that. We are not rehabilitating the entire section because there are several works that are missing to fully rehabilitate up to Tebicuary. It is the section of access to Villa Franca, approximately 24 km, a similar investment of 24 million dollars and also almost 2 million dollars in the urban area”, reported the head of the MOPC.

He stressed that with the access to Villa Franca and other works enabled by the Government, the number of paved roads by this Government in the country reaches 4,209 km.

"We had the last authorization in 3,983 km enabled and with the access to Villa Franca, plus the works that we are enabling, really at a distance of more than 225 km, today our administration and yours, Mr. President, we reached 4,209 km of new asphalt paving enabled and inaugurated”, reported the Minister of Public Works and Communications, Rodolfo Segovia.
